Sourdough Basics Demonstration
Join us for a sourdough demonstration where you’ll learn the essentials to confidently bake your own delicious loaf at home.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to feed and care for your sourdough starter so it stays active and healthy
- Simple proofing techniques to help you understand timing and build confidence
- How to achieve a great oven spring for that beautiful rise, texture, and crust
During the session, you will:
- Review the ingredients and tools needed for sourdough baking
- Learn about sourdough starter care and recognising peak performance
- Explore scoring techniques and essential baking tips
- Watch Jess proceed through the various stages of the breadmaking process
- Jess will discuss stretch and fold, including coil folds
- Gain an understanding of key proofing techniques
While the demonstration is on, a sourdough loaf will be baking, ready to be shared and enjoyed together at the end of the session — a chance to celebrate your learning and success.
