Kōwhiti Whakapae is an online resource designed for early learning kaiako, grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Principles of Te Whāriki. It supports thoughtful planning, meaningful assessment, and deeper noticing—helping kaiako recognise patterns in children’s learning and respond with intentional, effective teaching practice.

In this interactive workshop, we will unpack the learning area of Math and explore how mathematical thinking already shows up in children’s play and everyday experiences. You will engage with practical tools and resources, that strengthen teaching practice, build confidence, and support children to grow and expand their mathematical capabilities.
Whether you’re new to Kōwhiti Whakapae or looking to deepen your understanding, this session will inspire fresh thinking and practical next steps you can take straight back to your learning community.
