Join us to grow your confidence in everyday Te Reo Māori, connect with others, and enjoy learning in a friendly, supportive environment.

Dates

May: 4, 11, 18, 25 June: 8, 15, 22, 29

Session Structure

Each session is facilitated by Lucy, with ākonga-led learning:

  • Karakia Timatanga – Begin with a simple karakia to open the space with intention and respect.

  • Whakawhanaungatanga – Warm introductions and check-ins to build connections and create a safe space.

  • Waiata – Group singing to build confidence in pronunciation, rhythm, and tikanga.

  • Pepeha Practice – Guided support to say and understand personal pepeha.

  • Kōrero in Pairs/Groups – Use prompts and visual supports to encourage everyday conversational reo.

  • Kupu Games & Fun Activities – Build vocabulary through games, movement, and shared laughter.

  • Kai & Informal Kōrero – Share food and stories; continue learning in a relaxed setting.

  • Karakia Whakamutunga – Close with a karakia to reflect, give thanks, and finish together.
