NZSL Next Step - Units 3 and 4 - Term 3
This is an 8 week course with 1 hour online workshops each week.
Learners are required to complete 6/8 sessions to receive the certificate for Units 3 & 4.
By the end of NZSL Beginner 2 (Units 3 & 4), learners will be able to:
Unit 3 – Family and Relationships
- Introduce and describe members of their whānau and wider family.
- Use signs relating to family relationships and personal information.
- Ask and answer questions about people, family and relationships.
- Use numbers, age and simple descriptive language in conversation.
- Develop confidence participating in short signed conversations.
Unit 4 – Daily Life and Activities
- Discuss everyday activities, routines and interests.
- Use signs relating to time, days, weeks and common activities.
- Ask and answer questions about what people do, where they go and when activities take place.
- Use a wider range of vocabulary and sentence structures in NZSL.
- Build fluency and confidence through interactive signed conversations.
